PEGASUS TAKE DIVISION THREE TITLE AT A CANTER
Pegasus A ended their season with a one hundred per cent record,
not only in their league matches but also in their doubles games,
a tremendous feat in itself! New acquisition Steve Noble joined
regulars Pete Mills and Clive Forster to complete a memorable season,
their 152 points a record score this century in any division!

Having already clinched the Colchester & District Division
One title H20 Rowhedge A completed the job in style beating runners
up H20 Rowhedge B 8-2. Kevin Gowlett extracted revenge for his defeat
by Michael Andrews in the recent Colchester championships

COLE PUSHED ALL THE WAY BY ANDREWS TO RETAIN MEN’S TITLE
Dave Cole successfully retained both his Colchester Men’s
Singles and Veteran’s (Over 40) titles at the Rowhedge Table
Tennis club at the weekend as expected. However, Cole did not have
things all his own way in the final as the search was on for someone
to threaten Cole’s three year reign.

COLE SET FOR REPEAT OF LAST SEASON’S ‘DOUBLE’
Dave Cole (H20 Rowhedge A) is odds on favourite to repeat his feat
of winning both the Men’s Singles and Veterans (Over 40) titles
at this coming weekend’s Colchester & District Table Tennis
League annual Closed Tournament at the Rowhedge Table Tennis Centre.

LEAGUE LEADERS SLIP UP
With the Colchester & District Table Tennis League in its final
throws Division One leaders and current champions H20 Rowhedge A
are showing end of season jitters following a narrow 6-4 win against
their ‘C’ team, they suffered a 6-4 reverse against
third placed St Mary’s A.

SHORE SHINES IN ROWHEDGE BATTLE
Second placed H20 Rowhedge B overcame their more experienced ‘C’
team 8-2 with Mike Shore , the youngest player in the match at just
sixteen outscoring his team mates with an excellent treble. It was
John Andrews that put up most resistance as he scored brilliant
wins over Antony Greenwood and Michael Andrews and took Shore all
the way before losing 11-5 in the final set.

H20 ROWHEDGE A EXTEND LEAD AT THE TOP
Two good wins for Colchester & District Division One leaders
H20 Rowhedge A has extended the gap at the top to sixteen points.
They turned in a superb performance against fourth placed Rayne
following the return of Dave Cole who along with Kevin Gowlett both
recorded maximums.

PEGASUS D WIN TOP OF DIVISION FOUR CLASH
Pegasus D gained revenge for their earlier season defeat by CRGS
A beating them 8-2 and in the process jumped four places to the
top of the Colchester & District Table Tennis Division Four.
Keith Clubb led the way for the Marks Tey team with his fifth straight
maximum maintaining his one hundred percent record.

ST MARY’S B HOLD LEAGUE LEADERS
Colchester & District Table Tennis Division One leaders H20
Rowhedge A were held by bottom team St Mary’s B to a 5-5 draw
as they failed to shrug off their Christmas hangover. Chris Gouldthorpe
was St Mary’s star player with good wins over youngsters Greg
Green and Lawrence Wilcox.

Walton B in Division One of the Colchester & District Table
Tennis League. Ian Whiteside, Andrew McEwan and Dean Andrews were

With the Colchester and District Table Tennis season at the halfway
break attention has turned to both the Knockout and Handicap Cup
competitions. In the Kiltie Cup, open to all teams there are two
qualifying groups and H20 Rowhedge teams head both.

COLE MAXIMUM LEADS H20 ROWHEDGE A TO VICTORY
David Cole led reigning Colchester & District Table Tennis
League Champions H20 Rowhedge A to a 6-4 victory in the battle of
Rowhedge against their up and coming ‘B’ team. Cole,
who has not played regularly this season, was the senior player
in every way as he overcame stiff resistance in Michael Andrews
14-12, 12-10, 11-3 in the opening game.
