The Colchester Table Tennis League kicks off on the 5th September. There is good news with an increase of 8 teams this year meaning divisions of 12 which will provide extra matches this year for all teams.
A Secretary’s meeting is being held this coming Friday at Rowhedge Table Tennis Club when League handbook will be distributed to Club Secretaries.
Further down this report are the division formats and table of matches for the coming season.
The final piece of news is a new website for the league. With the increase in divisions it became an opportunity for the league to adopt a package provided by TableTennis365. One of the benefits is that it links directly to the ETTA membership system ‘Connect’ so that all players who have affiliated and recorded Colchester as one of the Leagues they play then they will be visible to the League. It will make the administration of the league more streamlined with the added bonus that as soon as results are entered onto the system they will update online league table and player averages. The website will become active when the League starts on the 5th September and will be developed as the season progresses.
Just before you look down to see who you are playing this year, a reminder, to renew your membership of the ETTA if you have not already done so and ensure Colchester is recorded as the league you play in.

No comments

Please note following the latest ETTA rule amendment, you can only change your bat during an individual match if it is accidently damaged so badly it cannot be used.

‘Double Hit’ – New ETTA Ruling

No comments

Please note the new rule regarding a ‘Double-Hit’ which reads;
A player shall score a point If an opponent DELIBERATELY strikes the ball twice successively.
No point is scored for an accidental double hit.

There is also a change to the ‘Expedite system’ which can be found by visiting the ETTA web site.

Individual Membership Registration Compulsory!

No comments

The proposal for individual player registration was passed at the recent ETTA AGM.
Existing player licenses will expire at the end of July and ALL local league players need to register for the coming season. This can be done directly with the ETTA either on-line or over the phone at a cost of £5.64 for senior players & £2.82 for juniors. Registration forms have been sent to Club Secretaries and for this coming season the Colchester League would prefer EVERYBODY to register & pay through them who will administer directly to the ETTA in order to keep a record. Players who play in more than one League only have to register with one but must advise other Leagues of their individual registration number.
Any player failing to register will be ineligible to play in the Colchester League in the coming 2010/11 season!
Your comments will be passed on…
